DEAF festival returns once again this October with another outstanding line up of some of the world’s most interesting electronic artists. Spanning numerous genres and various venues around Dublin and for the first time taking place over two weekends, (Oct 21st – 31st) the ever growing festival is synonymous with offering cutting edge artists from both home and abroad.

A first for the festival comes “What we do” a collaboration, showcase and celebration of some of Irelands own electronic music providers. “What we do” will bring together for the first time some of the country’s top electronic music labels and producers to showcase the many sounds and styles spilling out from the Irish house and techno scene.

Taking place Saturday Oct 24th at recently renovated Pygmalion (previously Ba mizu) in the Powerscourt centre on Dublin’s busy South William St, the event will see a well rounded line up of long running experienced and much respected labels, as well as the recently established, relative newcomers, that are now also making lots of noise on the global club scene.

“What we do” will be a completely FREE event, beginning early evening from 5pm and running until close and giving each label the chance to showcase exactly - what they do!

As part of the event we will also be putting together a CD compiled completely of homegrown electronic music submitted by each participating label. The CD will be on sale on the day for a very reasonable price with all proceeds after costs going to charity.

This years line up will include -

Matador (Aciitone)
Corrugated Tunnel (Seedy R)
Metrotek (Fvf)
Indo Phunqe (Mode Music)
Simon Resoul (Stereotonic Recordings)
Mick Chillage (Psychonavigation)
Aruba (Elevation)
Ikeaboy (D1)
Desy Balmer (Nice & Nasty)

We are really hoping to generate as much interest in this event this year as possible with the hope of creating an annual event at the DEAF festival for Irish electronic music labels. It’s a great opportunity for people to hear “what we do” and have lots of fun in the process, it won’t cost you anything so please feel free to spread the good word as support would be greatly appreciated!

Our second EP with FVF Records is out now on Beatport!

This is our first house release, deeper and more melodic than our previous work, with every track featuring vocal loops and strong, rhythmic synth hooks over driving beats and subtle percussive sequences.  Elements of these tracks revisit older influences and classic house cuts, but this is unquestionably music for the 21st century.

Please support us by buying the EP at: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/196711/Falling%20EP

To promote this release, our May live set in Dublin club The Twisted Pepper is available for you to download as a free podcast on iTunes.  Just visit the iTunes store and search for Metrotek in the Podcasts section OR listen at http://www.fvf.ie/ - PODCASTS - FVF 04 Metrotek

For our next live performance, we’re headlining the “What We Do” Irish electronic label showcase at the DEAF Festival 2009 in Pygmalion, Sth William St, Dublin 2 on Sat 24 October 2009, playing live analog hardware that you will not see anywhere else…

Thanks everyone for your continuing support.
